Black canvas [originally posted 11 Aug 2009]

Back again. Survived the first week of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, at work tomorrow then off in a couple of days to Hacking At Random 2009 ... hopefully to see more than 3 lectures this time. It'll be good to be surrounded again by a few thousand of the friendliest, smartest, most helpful people you're likely to meet. I'm going to try and brave the Dutch public transport system by myself and see if it all works out nicely. Fingers crossed.

I've been busy with music stuff - one track written and also working on a new remix for The Unknownn which I'll have to finish once I'm back from .nl

Speaking of which, the new Imogen Heap album will be out shortly after that, and I fully expect to lose myself in that for a good while... Can't wait.

So, I shall write again when I get the chance. Maybe from HAR2009 - trying to journal what I've been seeing. Kick me if it's less than 5 lectures.

Currently waiting for:
Imogen Heap - Ellipse (out August 24th in UK)

If you don't this woman's music then you should give it a go. Her music absolutely sends me...
Currently reading:
Cities In Flight [SF Masterworks] by James Blish
Read recently:
The Earthsea Quartet by Ursula Le Guin
Always been meaning to read these stories and finally got around to it... The prose is beautiful even dealing with such dark events. I can't recommend this highly enough.
The Painted Man [Demon Trilogy volume 1] by Peter V. Brett
Really good basis for what should be a great trilogy... Got to wait for the next one to be released though!

[Edit: Ellipse hasn't really grown on me that much. And I lost Cities In Flight on a plane. The irony hasn't escaped me.]
